NORD-LOCK maintains tension on the bolt or nut to prevent loosening caused by vibration and dynamic loads. Pre-assembled with cam faces together and radial teeth gripping the mating surfaces, the lead angle of cams is greater than the thread pitch, preventing the bolt or nut from turning. If the bolt attempts to loosen, a wedge action is produced and the preload is maintained.
